It is always fun to take a trip back to a slower paced time when we volunteer at the pioneer site at the American West Heritage Center. Life is still busy, but in a different way than modern times.
Work on a 'new' old cabin has begun. This cabin was recently found within the walls of a home that was being remodeled or torn down for some reason. It is more than a hundred years old. We hope when renovations of the cabin are complete, it will give us a bit more space!
Visitors who stop by during the day often take the time to make themselves a little rag doll.
On Wednesday afternoons when lunch is over, it is time to sit in the shade and work on some projects. Bobbin lace is a popular activity.
Embroidery projects also are fun
I am not sure it is fun working with a drawknife, but sometimes it is necessary.
The dugout is surrounded by blue flax flowers.
A few fiddle tunes liven things up while we are working. It is nice to be able to cook outside in our outdoor kitchen where we have more space and more light.
Even the little loom was set up and in use. Altogether a busy and productive afternoon.
